A fruit farm in full harvest, the smell of dark red fruit leaps out of the glass. Raspberries, dark cherries and plums lead the way, with fennel and bay leaf in the background. Lovely, grippy tannins and an earthy richness provide structure to this bold wine. Able to stand its own next to a pan-seared steak, coated in olive oil and salt, but defintely will do justice to Mom’s home-made Boontjie bredie (Bean stew).

Difficult to share but a stand-out at any occasion. Paired with a delectable pork fillet stuffed with apples and pecorino, and wrapped in bacon for the makings of a truly spectacular dinner party.

Seductive and sultry. Luscious Stollen sets the mood centre stage, while aromas of dried flowers draw you closer, so that dark berries and molasses can steal your heart. You can almost smell the intense conversations around the fireplace this wine is sure to provoke. Soft and velvety on the palate – it is the perfect accompaniment to Youvetsi (Greek Lamb stew with Orzo).
