The Tinkery 2012

A full bodied wine with upfront plum followed by a multitude of  berries such as, mulberry, black berry and hints of raspberry on the nose.  Berry fruit and mocha flavours follow through on the palate with a wonderful soft lingering aftertaste. The kind of wine that demands a aged fillet steak.

Winemaker Comments

This is our experimental label. To “tinker” for us means to use invention and experimentation to achieve innovation. The Tinkery will be where we have fun, and most likely colour outside the lines, stretch our creative muscles and make a little magic. We will have a wine called The Tinkery every year, but no two Tinkeries will be alike.

Three exceptional barrels of Merlot, Cabernet franc and Petit Verdot where identified and blended. The blend consists of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot, which is a slightly different take from our current red Bordeaux blend, the Calligraphy.

The wine was matured for 4 years in the bottle before we achieved a perfect marriage between the different components.
